God’s promise for 2021
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Response to the death of George Floyd
This tragic event in Minneapolis is a blatant brutal wicked evil act of injustice and racism. It happened far away in America, but the evil of racism is here in our land as well.
Praise the Lord that we have a caring fellowship which has people of many ethnic origins worshipping together but we must be aware that racism is never far away.
In Micah 6: 8 it says - He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
And in Isaiah 58: 6 it says “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
So, we, Wycliffe Church, must stand up and speak out against injustice and racism wherever it occurs.
We too must pray: -
Dear Lord –
- We pray for the family of George Floyd that they will be able to grieve in peace. That you will comfort them in their mourning.
- We pray for Minneapolis that you will bring your healing to this city.
- That you will bring justice to this situation that you will stop those evil people who want to use this situation for violence and thieving.
- We pray for every city in America where there has been unrest that you will bring peace.
- That your Church will give a voice to the voiceless, hope to the hopeless and help to the helpless.
- We ask this in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
